Job Description The applicant will be responsible for supporting Siemens Hearing Instruments, Inc. software and hardware products used in the Hearing Healthcare industry; and in addition, will support appropriate third-party software and hardware such as NOAH and the NOAHlink. The applicant performs semi-complex product support, including training, to customers via telephone, remote access, e-mail & occasional faxing of documents. Applies skills to identify and resolve complex problems and applies problem-solving skills in order to deal with most situations, including those not covered by existing procedures or practices. The candidate will be required to be an active participant in various programs designed to increase customer satisfaction.
Direct reporting to the manager of technical support. On a daily basis, duties are performed as part of the technical support group; however, will often work independently and without direct supervision.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Having knowledge of hearing instrument functionality and audiological terminology is a plus. The candidate must demonstrate a thorough understanding of: Microsoft Windows based computers, small systems architecture connections using serial ports, USB connections and Bluetooth technology, networked environments, standard database systems and on-line e-business transactions. Additionally, he/she must demonstrate the ability to understand new concepts and apply their current knowledgebase to solve evolving problems.
Education: BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and an at least 2 years of high-level technical support experience. Microsoft certification could be considered a plus depending on the relevance of the subject matter (e.g. MSDST is a plus), but certifications are not required. Having a Master's Degree in audiology is also plus, but not required.
