Posted Position Title Service & Field Operations Leader Career Level Experienced Function Services Function Segment Field Services Location United States U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces New York City Schenectady Postal Code 12345-6000 Relocation Assistance Yes Role Summary/Purpose The Energy Storage Service & Field Operations Leader will manage field and factory warranty support and execute the Energy Storage service strategy. Essential Responsibilities * Define and lead global technical support and service delivery, which continuously surpasses customer expectations, including field support, customer training, maintenance planning, spare parts tooling, advice on operation, seminars, and symposiums
* Define operating metrics, methods and procedures, and support tools
* Develop an effective working relationship with the customer, ensuring frequent communication, early identification of service issues, and timely resolution of those issues
* Drive technical communication of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementation of corrective actions for that customer
* Establish and drive operating mechanisms between Quality and Technology to complete rigorous Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of field issues, implementation of corrective actions, and communication back to the customer
* Provide timely and effective warranty management and administration services
* Lead engagements with senior customer leaders
* Drive field services fulfillment excellence, productivity, and LEAN processes
* Work with Product Management, Engineering, and Cost Improvement to enhance product reliability and serviceability
* Assist commercial team on customer strategy
* Recruit Field Staff and manage the application and interviewing processes
* Implement safety policy instructions, conduct fieldwork in compliance with OSHA and applicable regulations, and encourage good employee safety practices
* Provide formal internal status updates to Energy Storage and Transportation leadership
* Ensure operational excellence in the areas of integrity, controllership, and compliance Qualifications/Requirements * Bachelor's Degree of Science in Engineering OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 10 years of professional work experience
* Minimum of 8 years of commercial / services experience in Telecommunications, Datacenters, Electric Utilities, and / or Lift Trucks ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
* Willingness and ability to travel 25% to customer sites domestically and internationally Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. * Minimum of 3 years of heavy industrial, business-to-business experience
* Six Sigma (GE Employees only) or equivalent problem solving expertise
* Previous experience in the renewable energy, energy storage, UPS, and/or a drive train-related industry
* Fluent in one or more of the following languages: Chinese, Hindi, German, and / or Spanish
* Demonstrated excellence in customer service, having earned a high level of respect with customers, peers and management in previous roles
* Proven track record of establishing a vision and strategy, and executing business plans
* Demonstrated leadership skills in a cross-functional environment
* Demonstrated accomplishments in customer-focused problem solving
