Posted Position Title Service Center Technician Career Level Entry-Level Function Services Function Segment Field Services Location United States U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces Texas City Houston Postal Code 77032-3411 Relocation Assistance No Role Summary/Purpose The Service Center Technician is the on-site resource for inspection and repair, providing technical assistance to complete the work scope for BOP (Blowout Preventer) equipment under warranty. Some travel is required and the ability to work within the Southwest region on land drilling applications servicing equipment in the field. In addition to hydraulic and mechanical aptitude, responsibilities include the completion of internal documentation and customer reports. Essential Responsibilities * Perform mechanical and electrical fault finding on all of Hydril's product lines, assess large scale equipment for damage and estimate repair scope
* Oversee in-house testing of equipment prior to shipment
* Availability for on after hours for remote service and/or after hours parts requests
* Complete necessary paperwork concerning equipment, localized or in the field Qualifications/Requirements * High School Diploma or GED ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
* Ability and willingness to travel as required both domestically and internationally
* Physical ability to travel to and work on land installations Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work.
