Privacy and Security Manager
This position is located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama with DCH Health System.
DCH Health System Department: Internal Audit and Compliance The Privacy and Security Manager oversees the development of and adherence to the system-wide privacy and security program. He/she will ensure that processes or policies are in place to comply with applicable State and Federal laws and regulations related to HIPAA and other privacy and security rules and regulations. Will also conduct internal audits, perform analysis, reviews and investigations within DCH Health System; provide recommendations to improve compliance and internal controls with applicable State and Federal laws and regulations related to HIPAA and other privacy and security rules and regulations. And will assist in the development and implementation of HIPPA privacy and security education programs in the workforce.
Requirements:
The Privacy and Security Manager position requires the following minimum knowledge, skills or experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Health Information Management, Business, or Health Care Management.
- Three or more years of experience in a field related to HIPAA Privacy and Security.
- Understanding of and ability to identify information technology security processes and related controls.
- Knowledge and experience in privacy laws, security laws, access, release of information, and release control technologies is required.
- Professional certification, preferred in one or more of the following: Healthcare Privacy Compliance, Certified Information System Auditor, Certified Information Systems Security Professional and/or HIPAA Professional.
- Must possess a high degree of integrity and trust along with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent written, analytical, and oral communication skills required.
