Techstaff, The Technical Placement Specialists has been providing talented professionals to Florida’s best employers since 1992. We currently need an experienced sales professional to represent a maritime Crane manufacturer along an East Coast United States territory asDistrict Sales Manager.
Using your existing capital equipment sales experience, you will acquire product technical knowledge to successfully close sales within your territory. Prior experience with port equipment such as harbor cranes, strappers, gantry cranes, reach stackers, container cranes, attachments etc.
Your client base will be port operators, large container shippers, port authorities, shipyards, naval facilities and other maritime related businesses.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develops full technical knowledge of company products with the ability to assist architectural firms, engineering firms and end users with developing specifications, application solutions and equipment selection.

2. Builds increased share of market by developing and implementing a comprehensive training program for Customers maintenance staff and establishing brand preference.

3. Secures orders direct from end user accounts in geographical areas designated by the Manager.

4. Develops direct and/or referred new business through active programs with key accounts and target market.

5 Assists in the sale of repair, installation, and modernization services by calling directly on end users accounts, and by developing and implementing marketing and promotional programs for these services together with our service company.

Provides support to the Sales Department in making quotations and communication activities.

8. Assists in maintaining communication channels at all levels of operation (parts and service) and management within the Tampa client base in the assigned territory areas of responsibility.

10. Attainment of new order objectives for each product group represented through market and customer analysis, strong selling techniques, well planned calls, follow-up of sales leads, and well organized and efficient account development and maintenance.

11. Operates within established guidelines and requires approval from the Divisional Manager for deviations from established policies in the area of pricing and conditions of sales.

12. Submits reports (i.e., monthly forecasts, quotation summary, crane activity, bi-weekly itineraries, expense reports, lost quotations, etc. to the Divisional Manager on a timely basis).

13. Maintains best account relations possible, both on a business and social level with complete integrity.
14. Attend and participate in local and national trade shows to promote Company
offerings as requested.

15. Keeps abreast of competitor’s products and marketing capabilities.

Requirements:


PRIOR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years experience in sales to industrial accounts where overnight travel was necessary.



EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

A Bachelor's Degree in a technical field, or sufficient experience in technical positions including sales, to provide an equivalent amount of education. Maritime experience preferred
