Job Description
The role of the Patient Service Representative (PSR) is to provide extraordinary care to patients and customers through friendly, caring, courteous, and professional services and to ensure that our patients feel welcome and comfortable in our clinics and health centers. The clinic environment is a fast paced smaller environment that allows the development of close working relationships with physicians and clinical staff as well as returning patients. Every team member is vital to the clinic’s success in providing exceptional patient care.
A successful PSR becomes the patient’s advocate as they coordinate services such as scheduling of appointments, registration, cashiering functions, and data entry of appropriate physician charges. The PSR is also responsible for effective billing, problem solving, and maintenance of financial computer records of clinic patients following Intermountain’s policies and procedures. Completing these duties provides the PSR the opportunity to truly make a difference in the lives of many on a daily basis.
Entry Rate: $10.62
Benefits Eligible: Yes
Shift Details: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 8-5
Department: Float pool
Additional Details: Must be willing to float to different departments within the clinic and also work in different locations in the Salt Lake region.
Minimum Requirements
- Two or more years of customer service experience
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications and 10-key by touch
- Must be willing to float to different departments within the clinic and also work in different locations in the Salt Lake region.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous clerical/secretarial work experience in a hospital or physician office setting
- Previous work experience in accounting or billing
