The role of Senior Quantity Surveyor will require you to, as part of a team, deliver the role of Senior Cost Consultant for the delivery of major and minor projects to meet defined customer objectives adopting a variety of procurement types for new build and remodelling/refurbishment. To assist the Principal Surveyor or other defined line manager in business management, repeat sales and the running of a cost consultancy team and subsequent achievement of project and business goals.

You will be responsible for;
Key project and business communication
Achieving profitability on projects; minimising Days Capital Employed and optimising Return on Capital Employed
Working in accordance with the direction of the line manager
Maintaining the project based Quality, Environmental and Safety documentation
Delivery of projects in line with the customer objectives + contracted scope of works
Personal development monitored through the PDR system
Managing team development through the PDR system
Acting as buddy or mentor to others
Job Description Your duties will include;
Assist with the management of an Estimating team
Act as the project manager in the context of the company business management system
Take part in estimating, benchmarking and Price review related commissions.
Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports/liaison with sub-divisional manager
Assist in securing new and repeat business in line with the sub-divisional budget
Comply with QES system and Group/Unit directives
Preparation of cost estimates, cost plans and benchmarking in line with the brief for capex / opex / totex, resource rates and element rates
Provision of financial advice including the impact of inflation
Assist in systems development support
Assist in development of Cost Base and Business Plans
Provision of advice on data collection and modelling
Production of cost curves and models
Knowledge of Modern Equivalet Asset valuation
Assist in carbon modelling
Assist in the development of programmes for the delivery of our services
Provision of whole life costing
Preparation of standard documentation
Attendance at design team and progress meetings as necessary
Contract administration as necessary
Other duties as may reasonably be required
Candidate Specification BSc in Quantity Surveying or similar level degree or vocational qualification
MRICS/MICE/other further post graduate educational qualification is desired but not essential.
Excellent report writing skills
Ability to prioritise and able to work under pressure
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with clients and colleagues
Excellent presentation and communication skills
Ability to demonstrate a flexible approach to work
Technical awareness and able to work with some support to deliver all estimating delivery and to solve problems
Proactive and self motivated
Effective time management - efficient and adding value to projects
Customer focused - ability to engage in building sound relationships with the customer project team.
