Job Description

This position is responsible to provide professional and comprehensive communication and customer service support to all Intermountain employees and managers with questions and needs involving Intermountain’s Retirement and Health & Welfare Benefit Programs.

  • Responds to communication and education needs of Intermountain employees and managers by answering customer service telephone line; scheduling and meeting individually with employees; facilitating presentations for groups of employees or managers; attending annual benefit fairs; presenting at various locations as well as new employee orientation
  • Manages ongoing relationships with assigned facilities/relationships including processing non-automated Oracle/OAB functions
  • Prepares benefit calculations, including pension calculations, and determines eligibility and vesting requirements
  • Ensures administrative compliance of Intermountain’s Retirement and Health & Welfare Benefit programs with Intermountain policy and federal and state law and regulations including eligibility, enrollment opportunities, dependent eligibility, etc.
  • Maintains operational responsibilities with third-party vendors
  • Maintains daily partnership with HRIS to ensure all automated enrollment opportunities and rules are functioning appropriately
  • Increases employee participation in 401(k)
  • Supports Department Wide Goals as determined by Manager of the Benefits and Retirement Center
  • Administers check processing procedures and collects premium deductions not taken
  • Actively participates in creating an atmosphere of collaboration and teamwork through seeking opportunities to assist fellow members of the Benefits and Retirement Center wherever possible  

 

 **The entry rate for this position starts at $17.15

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree OR 2 years of experience in human resource or benefits; degree is verified and must be obtained through and accredited institution

  • Dem onstrated excellent and professional customer service skills to be performed in conjunction with Intermountain’s mission vision and values

  • Ability to present comfortably in a variety of public settings

  • Ability to function in and contribute to a team environment

  • Ability to learn multiple computer systems

  • Ability to learn, support and implement Intermountain policies and procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business 

  • Two years of experience in Retirement or Health & Welfare Benefits

  • Knowledge of the underlying provisions of Retirement and Health & Welfare Benefit Programs including Defined Benefit and Savings Plus programs, health insurance, dental insurance and Flexible Spending Accounts, and eligibility and enrollment rules as well as related policies

  • Working understanding of, and ability to communicate about, relevant state and federal rules regarding the administration of Intermountain’s Retirement and Health & Welfare Benefit Programs including HIPAA, ERISA, and IRC 125
