Requisition Number 12-0215 Post Date 11/28/2012 Title Business Development Manager- SWAV City Orlando State FL Description This position with Southwest Airline Vacations (SWAV) is responsible for defining, delivering, and driving strategic sales plans to increase revenue, retain and grow existing key Travel Agency relationships nationwide and identify opportunities to engage with new Agencies to facilitate growth. This position will support and implement sales and distribution strategies to organizational financial goals and channel volume goals. * Maintain brand loyalty by building strong relationships, facilitating joint marketing plans, training, promotions, events, loyalty programs and incentives for top and National accounts. * Effectively interpret key analytics to identify trends and growth opportunities. * Proactively seek opportunities to expand market share and sell aggressively against traditional and online competitors. * Increase sales to assigned accounts nationwide and directionally sell to meet or exceed program objectives. * Monitor competitive activities in the marketplace and provide regular feedback to incorporate into sales and marketing strategy game plan. * Participate in appropriate meetings and provide in-depth insight to brand marketing team. * Represent brand at industry functions assigned. * Leverage unique value benefits of the brand within the Travel Agency marketplace. * Understand and utilize knowledge of VAX VacationAccess within sales efforts * Align with key agencies to maximize B2B2C opportunities (advertising, media appearances and grassroots initiatives). * Work with the marketing team to support cooperative spend budgets to achieve maximum ROI. * Support agreements with new national and/or top accounts and maintain these accounts to facilitate growth. * Conduct in-person and virtual trainings. * Utilize sales reporting tools * Prepare and present in-depth reports on business mix and key measurables. * Prepare weekly summary of key accounts including reasons for booking trends, key Agency information and potential share-shift accounts and develop and implement targeted growth plans based on analytical data.. * Support new origin launches nationwide.
Requirements * Bachelor''s degree (BA) from four-year college or university; or three or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Travel industry knowledge or experience. * The position will reside in Orlando, Florida. * Nationwide travel is essential for this job Travel by plane and car is required depending on the location of client opportunity. Travel consists of attending meetings, conferences, trade shows, FAM trips, supplier functions, company meetings, training functions both in destination and in the territory. * Administration and Management - Knowledge of business and management principles. * Customer Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction * Oral Communication and Presentation Skills- The ability to listen, understand, and communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
